Description of Volunteer Opportunities
Assemble Food Boxes
The 95820 Food Project is providing weekly grocery deliveries to single mothers, families that do not have access to reliable transportation and immune compromised individuals. Teams of volunteers are needed to help pack food boxes once a week for 2 hours. This opportunity will take place in the auditorium at the Ephraim Williams Family Life Center. Experts in food and COVID-19 safety protocols from the Food Literacy Center will oversee activities. Since it takes time to review protocols with volunteers, we are encouraging people to sign up for a reoccurring weekly shifts.
We are also recruiting volunteers to deliver boxes to families once a week. Drivers deliver 3-5 boxes to families within the 95820. Deliveries typically take one hour to complete. Proof of insurance and a drivers license are required. Drivers must also watch a safe serve COVID-19 video.
Please only sign up if you are feeling healthy, are displaying no symptoms, have not traveled out of the country or come in contact with a sick person in the past 14 days, AND HAVE BEEN PRACTICING SOCIAL DISTANCING.
